For the storytelling seminar, she and her classmates worked on <a href=\"https:\/\/preview.webflow.com\/preview\/comm344-g1-e5a24555df584e8b65e9110bf907?utm_medium=preview_link&amp;utm_source=dashboard&amp;utm_content=comm344-g1-e5a24555df584e8b65e9110bf907&amp;preview=9affffa170e164f8cf91ab5e07ad4984&amp;pageId=6237d4d9164b2c56c0a139b1&amp;workflow=preview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a site highlighting the benefits of a communications degree<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the Passionate Leaders Project, Shania&#8217;s work uses digital technologies to bring the visual cultures of indigenous communities to a wider audience. In a <a href=\"https:\/\/pitch.com\/public\/d5789826-9127-4908-b5f8-f2693876b77e\/40530318-765d-4fb8-9435-a69f755d46d4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">presentation she gave to the undergraduate symposium<\/a>, you can see the importance of communities retaining agency over their narratives in her work. Her <a href=\"https:\/\/kelseybenedict.myportfolio.com\/work\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">design work<\/a> suits the style of her content and audience, while her personal style shines through in her<a href=\"https:\/\/kelseybenedict.myportfolio.com\/art\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> artwork<\/a>\u2014mixing mandalas and tattoo-inspired imagery. In all her work, you can see the attention to detail and keen eye that makes her stand out.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"catherine_bernard\"><\/a>\u00a0Catherine Bernard<\/h2>\n<p>Catherine is an adaptable storyteller who explores the human experience through journalism, audio, and video production. As the News Editor for the <em>Simmons Voice<\/em>, she has not only produced her own work but empowered student reporters and editors to express themselves through their work, while adhering to a strong standard for journalistic integrity.<\/p>\n<p>Below are two samples of Catherine&#8217;s media work:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/commtracks.simmons.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/C.-Bernard-First-Kiss-podcast.mp3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">First Kiss podcast<\/a> (opens podcast in new window)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/xFaNOAhZwDM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Way Less Sad short film<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"dani_caisse\"><\/a>\u00a0Dani Caisse\u2014Media Arts; Graphic Design<\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Dani is one of the multi-talented design leads of this year&#8217;s CommTracks magazine. Beyond co-designing and project managing this collaborative project, she is also an accomplished photographer. Dani is passionate about visual communication, be it through photography, video, or design. In her photography work, she specializes in black and white film photography and you can see her <a href=\"https:\/\/danicaisse.myportfolio.com\/published-photographs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">portfolio of published photography\u00a0<\/a>here.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"katie_cole\"><\/a>\u00a0Katie Cole\u2014Journalism; Radio<\/h2>\n<p>Katie is a multimedia journalist, specializing in audio journalism. She is the editor-in-chief of the <em>Simmons Voice<\/em>, and her\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/katiecolemedia.journoportfolio.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">portfolio<\/a> features\u00a0work published in the <em>Voice<\/em> and Shark, along with an article for <em>PBS NewsHour<\/em> and social media work done for internships. She is well versed in social media content creation and am always looking to bring different interactive elements into her stories.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"marissa_johnson\"><\/a>\u00a0Marissa Johnson\u2014PR\/MarComm; Web Design &amp; Development<\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Marissa is our other design lead of this year&#8217;s CommTracks magazine, helping to shepherd and shape this entire publication. Marissa seamlessly transitions between writing, social media, marketing, web design and graphic design. Her animated webpage &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/web.simmons.edu\/~johnsmn\/class-site\/animated-story\/evening-star.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Evening Star<\/a>&#8216; highlights her coding and visual storytelling skills, while her <a href=\"https:\/\/marissajohnson31.wixsite.com\/my-site\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Environmental\u00a0Health Blog<\/a> demonstrates her ability to communicate as effectively through text as image.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"ailia_rochefort\"><\/a>\u00a0Ailia Rochefort<\/h2>\n<p>Ailia is a multi-media communicator who utilizes photography and writing to engage diverse audiences. Addie pairs the clean lines of vector graphics with calligraphic details that evoke the imperfections of the handmade. Check out Addie&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.behance.net\/addiesargent219\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">portfolio<\/a> on Behance to get a sample of what they can make.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"lennon_sherburne\"><\/a>\u00a0Lennon Sherburne\u2014Radio<\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Lennon&#8217;s documentary podcast &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wbur.org\/news\/2021\/03\/30\/simmons-student-podcast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Let&#8217;s Do The Time Warp<\/a>&#8216; was one of 10 finalists in NPR&#8217;s Student Podcast Challenge and was nominated for Best Documentary by the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System. Lennon&#8217;s pair their political science major with a radio minor in order to bring authentic queer narratives to a mainstream audience.
